Augusta National to allow limited number of fans

The roars might be again on the Masters this yr, although somewhat quieter than we’re used to.

Augusta National introduced on Tuesday that it’s going to allow fans to attend the eighty fifth Masters Tournament in April, but only in a limited capacity.

“Following the successful conduct of the Masters Tournament last November with only essential personnel, we are confident in our ability to responsibly invite a limited number of patrons to Augusta National in April,” Augusta National chairman Fred Ridley mentioned through Masters.com.

No fans have been allowed to attend the earlier Masters Tournament, which happened in November after being postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Masters is legendary for the crescendoing roar of the crowds all through the course, so even a softer roar might be welcome after the eerie quiet of November’s match.

Ridley mentioned that they may implement well being and security insurance policies for individuals who attend, however didn’t describe what these might be.

“As with the November Masters, we will implement practices and policies that will protect the health and safety of everyone in attendance. Nothing is, or will be, more important than the well-being of all involved. While we are disappointed that we will be unable to accommodate a full complement of patrons this year, we will continue our efforts to ensure that all who purchased tickets from Augusta National will have access in 2022, provided conditions improve.”

Ridley didn’t reveal how they may select who to invite to the 2021 Masters, or if any tickets might be obtainable in any respect. Masters tickets are probably the most sought-after in all of sports activities, and so they’re extremely powerful to get in a daily, non-COVID yr. Getting one this yr looks as if it’ll require main Masters connections or precise, literal magic.
