One week after Alex Cejka won the Regions Tradition after getting within the discipline as an alternate, Dicky Pride received on the senior circuit as a Monday qualifier, claiming the Mitsubishi Electric Classic at TPC Sugarloaf in Georgia on Sunday.
And he did it in runaway trend.
Pride took his first outright lead with a birdie on the par-3 eighth gap to get to 9 beneath. Doug Barron made issues attention-grabbing after he eagled the tenth and birdied the twelfth to tie issues up. But on the thirteenth, Pride reclaimed the solo lead with a birdie and some moments after that, Barron doubled the fifteenth, giving Pride a three-shot lead with 5 holes to go and he cruised house from there.
Pride, 51, opened the week as considered one of 4 Monday qualifiers making the sphere, however qualifying actually took place on Tuesday. Then on Friday, Pride opened the match with a 71 after which adopted with back-to-back 67s to win by three pictures.
Moments after placing out for the win, Pride turned to the followers in attendance and yelled out “Let’s go!”

It’s his first Champions title in 11 tries and he’s now received a match on three completely different PGA Tour circuits. He received the 1994 Federal Express St. Jude Classic in a playoff on the PGA Tour. Six years in the past, he received the 2015 Portland Open on the Korn Ferry Tour.
“I’ve now won on all three tours, which is something I’ve always wanted to do,” he instructed Golf Channel after his win.
First-round chief Stephen Ames and second-round chief Paul Goydos joined Kirk Triplett in a three-way tie for second. It’s Triplett’s greatest end since successful the Pure Insurance Championship in September of 2019. Barron was amongst three golfers to tie for fifth, together with Billy Andrade and Brett Quigley.
Other notables within the discipline: defending champ Scott McCarron tied for tenth, Jim Furyk tied for nineteenth, Cejka tied for twenty sixth, Major League Baseball Hall of Famer John Smoltz completed 76th out of 77 golfers, beating solely Shigetoshi Hasegawa. Vijay Singh withdrew after 9 holes on Sunday. John Daly withdrew after eight holes on Saturday.
The second PGA Tour Champions main of 2021 is in two weeks on the KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
